BEAUTY GUIDES
5 Steps to a Glowing Complexion
1. The vitamin-rich foaming cleanser
The pomegranate enzymes in Vital Foaming Cleanser by Nuori exfoliate the dead skin cells responsible for a dull complexion. As a bonus, this exfoliating cleanser gradually clears up minor blemishes and also helps reduce dark spots. You can also try Perfecting Cleansing Foam by Patyka, which also exfoliates and is known for its anti-ageing properties from the very first cleanse!
2. The AHA mask for a healthy glow
With 15% glycolic acid, Liquid Gold Smoothing & Perfecting Mask by Alpha H tackles dullness while hydrating and plumping the skin! We also love how it helps clear clogged pores and blemishes.
3. The “magic wand” eye treatment
Gently pat a little Lifting Eye Contour Beauty Shot by Ren Skincare onto the skin with your fingertips. It firms, hydrates and smooths this delicate area, while its light-reflecting pigments help reduce the appearance of dark circles instantly!
4. The diamond-powder day cream for a fresh complexion
With its subtle shimmer, it hydrates skin without weighing it down and instantly smooths its appearance… Illuminating Moisturizer Illuminating Face Treatment by Tata Harper also makes an excellent makeup base before applying foundation, mineral powder or tinted cream. Marion told us all about it in her latest beauty favourite!
5. Just the right amount of highlighter
Pat Living Luminizer by RMS Beauty onto key areas of the face or anywhere shadows fall (the tops of the cheekbones, brow bones, chin crease, corners of the eyes…) to add a touch of light. It enhances every skin tone. It’s THE secret weapon your makeup bag needs.
The don’ts: what to avoid when your complexion looks dull
Too much bronzer: less is more… use a light hand with bronzing powder, sweeping it only over the raised areas of the face.
Foundation that’s too dark: this can also dull your glow. At a pinch, you could use it as a bronzer for subtle contouring. Otherwise, mixing it with a small amount of moisturiser may help it match your skin tone, because there’s nothing worse than a visible line at your neck ;-)
Using highlighter as concealer: light-reflecting concealers shouldn’t be applied to blemishes, as they can make them stand out even more. If you have small spots to cover, choose a matte concealer for reliable coverage, then apply a little loose powder with a brush to set everything in place.
Concealer that’s too light: it can leave you looking rather startled and unnatural…
